Connector privacy
Last updated July 13, 2026
This page supplements the Documatch Privacy Policy for users who connect Documatch to LLM clients (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) via our MCP connector at /mcp.
What the connector can access
- Document titles, excerpts, and section outlines in your account
- Full document content when you invoke read, ask, export, or propose-edit tools
- Ability to create new documents and request AI edit proposals (not auto-applied)
Authentication
Connectors use OAuth 2.1 through Clerk. You authorize access per client; you can revoke access by disconnecting the connector in Claude/ChatGPT or by revoking OAuth sessions in your Documatch account settings.
AI processing
When you use ask_document or propose_edit, relevant document content may be sent to our AI providers solely to fulfill that request. We do not use your documents to train third-party foundation models.
Logging
We log connector tool invocations (tool name, timestamp, document ID when applicable) for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. Logs are retained consistent with our main privacy policy.
